Eye & Tongue Photo Upload

Follow each example and add one clear photo for every position. Have someone else take the eye photos if possible.

Before you begin

Use bright natural light, remove glasses and contact lenses, avoid flash and glare, and make sure every image is sharp.

Right eye

Photograph only the right eye. Get as close as possible so the eye fills the frame.

Example

1. Right eye — Straight ahead

Look directly at the camera with the iris centred.

Example

2. Right eye — Looking up

Look up to clearly show the white below the iris.

Example

3. Right eye — Looking down

Look down and gently lift the skin above the upper eyelid with a clean finger to show the white above. Never touch the eye.

4. Right eye — Looking left

Look fully left to clearly show the side white.

5. Right eye — Looking right

Look fully right to show the opposite side white.

Left eye

Photograph only the left eye. Get as close as possible so the eye fills the frame.

Tongue

Get as close as possible while keeping the entire tongue sharp, well lit and in focus.

1. Tongue — top surface

Stick the tongue straight out and capture most of the top surface.

2. Tongue — underneath

Point the tongue toward the roof of the mouth to show the full underside.

3. Tongue — one side

Move the tongue fully to your left.

4. Tongue — opposite side

Move the tongue fully to your right.
